Uses
It is used mainly to treat high blood pressure. It may also be used to treat heart failure, painful cold fingers (Raynaud’s disease) or mild enlargement of the prostate gland (prostatic hyperplasia) in men.
How it works
Prazosin belongs to a class of medications called alpha blockers. Prazosin works by relaxing blood vessels so that blood passes more easily through them thereby decreasing the blood pressure. It also allows the heart to pump blood more easily.
